Check-in at anytime, Food Included
Day 1
Begin the day with sunrise yoga by the Ganga (6:00 AM), followed by a nourishing breakfast at the ashram. Afterward, explore the iconic Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, and Janki Setu, and enjoy a stroll through the colorful local markets filled with crafts, herbs, and traditional chai. In the evening, experience the uplifting Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan Ashram, a ceremony of chanting, lamps, and prayers by the river. Conclude the day with a peaceful overnight stay at the ashram.
Day 2
Begin the morning with yoga practice and a nourishing breakfast at the ashram. Afterward, set out on a scenic 7-hour drive (225 km) through winding mountain roads, forests, and valleys. Along the way, pause at Devprayag, the sacred confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers, where the holy Ganga officially takes form. The journey also offers breathtaking views of terraced fields, traditional Himalayan villages, and cascading rivers. By late afternoon, arrive at the Triyuginarayan Temple, the legendary site where Shiva and Parvati were wed according to mythology. In the evening, settle in with gentle yoga, followed by a wholesome dinner and rest at a mountain guesthouse.
Day 3
After breakfast, begin the drive to the enchanting Chopta Valley, often called the “Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand” for its lush meadows and pine forests. From here, set out on a rewarding 6 km trek to Tungnath Temple (3,680 m), the highest Shiva temple in the world and one of the revered Panch Kedar shrines. Continue the climb to Chandrashila Peak (4,000 m), where breathtaking 360-degree views of Himalayan ranges such as Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedar Dome, and Chaukhamba await. The trek is moderate to challenging but filled with unforgettable scenery and spiritual energy. By evening, return to Chopta and spend the night camping under a starry Himalayan sky.
Day 4
Begin the day with morning yoga to energize the body before heading out on a gentle 4 km forest trail that leads to the beautiful Deoria Tal Lake (2,438 m). Surrounded by dense rhododendron and pine forests, the lake mirrors the snow-capped peaks of Chaukhamba and neighboring Himalayan ranges, creating a scene of pure tranquility.
According to local legend, Deoria Tal is the lake where the Pandavas were questioned by Yaksha in the Mahabharata, testing their wisdom and patience. The still waters are believed to hold mystical qualities, making it a sacred place for meditation and reflection.
As evening falls, unwind with yoga practice by the lake, enjoy a cozy bonfire and stargazing, and spend the night camping beside the shimmering waters.
Day 5
Greet the morning with sunrise yoga by Deoria Tal, soaking in the calm reflections of the mountains one last time. After a wholesome breakfast, trek down the forest path to Sari village, where your vehicle awaits. The scenic 7-hour drive back to Rishikesh winds through valleys, rivers, and mountain roads, offering time to reflect on the journey. By evening, arrive back to the retreat center.
